Dear Relatives and Friends of Mimo,
I am a Roman Catholic priest....a friar of the Dominican Order...residing and ministering in Amityville, Long Island, New York. Fr. Bob Vaughn and I spent a week at St. Agnes Church in Lake Place, preaching a retreat for the parish community. Fr. Bob and I met Mimo at that time. Besides preparing some delicious meals for us, we thoroughly enjoyed and feasted on Mimo's delightful company. We found her very bright, articulate, engaging, humorous, and caring. She entertained us with stories of her mother and father. She brought over Earl's Oscar for CinemaScope so we could say we held an Oscar in our own hands. But what we most remember about Mimo is her kindness. There was a huge snow-storm during the week of the parish mission. Over half of the parish mission services were cancelled because of over 40 inches of snow falling in about 30 hours. But the trip from Amityville was worth it....just for the opportunity to meet this remarkable woman. This was over 25 years ago. But Mimo left an indelible impression on Fr. Bob and me. She deserves the special honor she received from Pope Francis. I will offer Mass for Mimo in gratefulness for her life, her service, and her kindness to others. God love you, Mimo...May your vision of God's beauty right now be even better than CinemaScope!
With grateful memories, in Christ's love, Fr. Ron E. Henery O.P....Dominican Preachers of Long Island, New York

I really loved seeing Mimo at church each week. When we were kids she would bring her Mom every Saturday afternoon for the 4pm Mass and we would sit right behind them. One time we were invited to lunch with them at the Elm Tree Inn in Keene. I had a such great time and felt very grown up to be invited. She was faithful and very kind and I will miss her sweet smile .
