My sincerest condolences go out to Sue, Tenny, the rest of Mark's family, and to his many friends. I worked with Mark at the Summit for more than 20 years. His sense of humor and smile will long be remembered. He worked hard and had a great compassion for the people around him. There is a hole at the Summit and there is a hole in the hearts of all that knew him. Rest in peace, my friend!!!!

I was so sorry to hear of Mark's passing. Mark as Mark would be took this challenge on and battled it to the very end. That's just the kind of person he was, strong and determined.
When I moved to Saratoga years ago I was fortunate enough to spend time with Mark; hiking, skiing, playing golf, always involving drinks and lots of laughs.
I ran into Mark up in Lake Placid a few years ago and we were able to sit down and catch up. We were able to pick up just where we left off. He was the same old Mark, witty, humble, and full of stories.
Mark was good man and one of those people you'll never forget.
He will be missed.

Mark was our beloved cousin and although decades separate our personal contact, Mark, like his brothers and sisters, were special to my family and prized as our cousins. As a small boy, I most remember his gentle affection and smooth demeanor. May his absence stand as a reminder of what we mean to one another and the impact that remains when we leave this Earth
To Kirk, Christine, Joey and Patrick. Love you all, Patrick and your Carney Cousins

Mark has been a brother to me since we first met in college in 1971. The Lake Placid Summit gave us the opportunity to continue our friendship for almost 27 years which has been a blessing. Our friendship was always shaped by our initial meeting as college students and always retained the youthful enthusiasm it began with. Mark was so loving, funny, tough, resourceful and determined in everything he did and that memory will inspire us as we all move forward from this day. We will miss Mark in so many ways but we will always have the greatest memories of time spent together and a friendship that has no boundaries or limitations. Our love and sincere thanks to Sue, Tenny and all of Mark's loving family and friends who made his last years on earth so worthwhile.

Mark and I grew up in Hannawa Falls together and it was a wonderful place for kids. I have great memories of going to the little school there and all the Snyder kids. What fun we had playing out doors, at the beach and getting into trouble together. Those days were magic! Mark was a pistol of a kid and you never knew what was going to come out of his mouth. He wasn't always his mother's favorite but she loved her kiddies with her whole heart and soul. May you, as his family, have as many fond memories to keep him close in your heart as I do. God bless you all.

Mark and my father were good friends when I was a young girl. We lost touch over the years and then reconnected as opponents at parole revocation hearings, Mark as the prosecuting parole revocation specialist and I as the criminal defender. Mark was an asset as a PRS, extremely professional, always with a smile, making reasonable plea offers, and always ready to help patiently explain the plea bargain, consequences, and risks to my clients. In the months since Mark left the Division of Parole each time I've been to a hearing his name comes up. He has been, and will continue to be, missed.

To learn of Mark's passing deeply saddens me. There are many times we in law enforcement meet one another and it was Mark whose professional demeanor really struck every time he came to Sunmount DDSO . It never seemed to amaze me that my travels down Main St. Lake Placid were never missed by him and the horn blowing and hand waving at first were questionable. Then one day as he arrived with that grin, did I finally find out who it was, Mark , we always kidded each other. My condolences to his family and friends. RIP Brother ..

My condolences to the family and friends of Mark. We were buddies and room mates at Niagara and I have many fond memories of the good times with Mark. One particular trip to his family hunting camp near Hannawa Falls in the late part of our Senior Year comes readily to mind. Mark was always full of energy and fun and I am sure he will be missed greatly.

Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our dear friend Mark. Four years of college and 26 years at the Lake Placid lacrosse tournament brought us as close as brothers. He touched so many at the tournament with his infectious humor, wit and desire to help. So many nights spent on the dock. So many mornings the first to arrive at the tournament. So many great dinners in town. So many memories. He will be dearly missed.
