Obituary of Mark Daniel Snyder

Mark Daniel Snyder, age 62, of Wilmington, NY passed away Monday May 23, 2016. He was born May 30th 1953 in Potsdam, NY. He was the son of Charles and Joyce (McCarthy) Snyder. Mark was a graduate of Potsdam Central High School, Class of 1971. He graduated from Niagara University in 1975 where his love for lacrosse became a passion. Recently awarded Legend and a longtime Senior Leader of Lake Placid Summit Lacrosse Tournament, his ever present wit and can-do attitude was infectious to all who came in contact with him. He spent many winters as a ski instructor, carving the trails of Whiteface. In the off-seasons, he enjoyed spending time with friends and family on the golf course. Throughout his life, hunting in the fall gave him great pleasure where he formed lifelong bonds of friendship. Mark's career with the NY State Division of Parole began in 1988. Throughout his career he was well loved and respected by his brothers and sisters in the family of parole and in the agencies and communities he worked with. He had passion for his work and made a difference in people's lives. Mark is survived by his wife Susan of Wilmington and his daughter Tennyson, his sister; Christine and his brothers; Kirk, Joey and Patrick. He is also survived by 15 nephews, 7 nieces, 1 great-nephew and 1 great-niece. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, May 31st from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the M.B. Clark, Inc. Funeral Home in Lake Placid, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Agnes in Lake Placid on Wednesday, June 1st at 1:30PM. Burial will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Lake Placid, NY. Mark's wishes were for donations to be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in care of Tennyson Snyder at 112 Andrews Avenue Apt i-3, Endicott, NY 13760.
