Lisa Malmquist Dyslin, 74, of Wilmington, NY, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 28, 2017 at her home in Wilmington, NY. Mrs. Dyslin was born August 21, 1942 in Norwalk, CT. She is the daughter of the late Eric and the late Helen (Nygren) Malmquist. Mrs. Dyslin was a graduate of Norwalk Public School, Class of 1960. While attending Norwalk Public School she was an accomplished member of the swim team, earning several awards and trophies. After graduating high school she furthered her education and went on to earn two masters degrees from Wilson College, her Masters in Education and a Masters in Computer Programing. She worked as a sixth grade teacher in Norwalk, CT and Essex, CT for 35 years. After her retirement Mrs. Dyslin and her husband Nicholas moved to Wilmington, NY and worked as manufacturer representatives for Aqua Ventures selling Sea Kayaks up and down the East Coast. Lisa was on the board of directors of the North Forest Canoe Trail and was instrumental in in establishing 740 miles of canoe trails throughout the North Country. She was co-president of the Friends of Library in Wilmington, NY. Mrs. Dyslin is survived by her husband Nicholas Dyslin of Wilmington, NY and her sister Ruth Craffey of Cape Cod, Ma. There are no calling hours. Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. The M. B. Clark, Inc. Funeral Home in Lake Placid, NY is in charge of arrangements.
