Obituary of Lera Louise Lincoln

Lera Louise (Smith) Lincoln Lera Louise Lincoln, 92 of Lake Placid NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Adirondack Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Lera was born in Lake Placid NY to John H. and Eva (Cotton) Smith on February 10, 1925. She shared with her family fond memories of growing up in Lake Placid and enjoying many outdoor winter activities with a special fondness for her years of figure skating. Lera especially enjoyed growing up in a home her father filled with music from the many instruments he mastered and her instruction on the violin. Lera married Raymond H. Lincoln on January 8, 1943. After his return from military service, they shared a life devoted to each other and their children. Lera was a homemaker to her large family of nine children and continued to nurture her family as it grew to what it is today; an even larger and beautiful family which shares many achievements, hardships and wonderful memories together. Lera is survived by eight children: Donna Loud, Tulsa OK; Thomas Lincoln, Ray Brook NY; Sandra Forster, Lake Placid NY; Kathy Lincoln, Lake Placid NY; Diane Kennedy and her husband David, Syracuse NY; Mary Riley and her husband Larry, Saranac Lake NY; Theresa Heinrich and her husband Thomas, Colchester VT; Jay Lincoln and his wife Carol, Plattsburgh NY. They have shared with Lera, fifteen grandchildren; William, George, Scott Loud and Stephanie Inoue; Brandie and Melissa Lincoln; Katie Pulsifer and Heather Kruger; Christopher Kennedy; Raymond and Brian Kennedy; Jennifer and Shane Riley; Natalie and Emma Lincoln, Step-grandchildren Kim (Letky) Perkins and Keith Letky; Twenty-one great grandchildren, one Step-great granddaughter and six great-great grandchildren. Lera is also survived by her cherished and loving siblings: Rita Hartson of Keene NY; J. Dustin Smith and Joseph Smith of Lake Placid NY; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Lera often expressed her appreciation of the care and companionship she had received from Margot Kampf. Lera was predeceased by her husband Raymond on November 30, 2002 and daughter Patricia Lincoln Higgins on December 12, 2012. She was also predeceased by her sisters Muriel Willis, Theresa Favro and Rosemarie Smith. At Lera's request there will be no Funeral service or Visitation. Cremation arrangements will be made by M.B. Clark Funeral Home. A family graveside service and burial of Lera's and Raymond's urns will take place at St. Agnes Cemetery in the spring. Memorial donations may be made to the Lake Placid Volunteer Ambulance Service, 338 Mill Pond Drive, Lake Placid NY 12946. The M. B. Clark, Inc.
