My condolences to the entire Clark Family on the passing of Mr. Clark. I just read about it in the New York State Funeral Directors newsletter.
Reg was a beacon in funeral service and I admired him for many years. He showed all of us what commitment meant in serving our client families and I will forever remember his smile, quick wit and compassion.
On behalf of myself and my father, Donald Knight, May he Rest In Peace and God Bless America!

My wife, Lucy, and I first met Reg around 1990, when we owned the Lake Theater in Indian Lake. We liked to go to movies at the Palace, and Reg always let us in for free. (I am happy to report that this did continue after we sold the theater.) One night he did not intercept us in time. We bought tickets, went upstairs to one of the small auditoriums and sat down. A few minutes later, Reg came rushing up the stairs to give us our money back! We did not know Reg well. but we will miss him, and his death represents a significant loss to the Lake Placid community. We hope Barbara and his kids will carry on.

My heartfelt condolences go out to Reg's family. One of my first jobs was working with him at the theatre. He was a great employer and I learned many of my good work habits from him. Even after being gone for 30+ years he always remembered me when I would come back to visit, give one of those Reg hugs and asked if I was ready to come back to work! I will be forever grateful for the kindness and empathy he showed me and my family when we needed his services at the funeral home... There truly are not enough words to describe this man. Thank you to Reg's family for sharing such a great man with us. He may be physically gone but we all will carry a part of him in our hearts. RIP Reg.

Mr Clark, your kindness and charisma exemplified what it means to have true class. Spending a great deal of my youth across the street from the Palace, working at my parent’s drug store, is how I remember you best. Whether it was when you came in to visit between movies on those hot summer nights, or just seeing your 1950’s classic car (“TC-187”) parked in front of the theater. The fact that you could actually get Santa to come see all of us town kids in the Palace lobby at Christmas time was unbelievable when you’re a little kid. As many have also said, thank you for making the saddest times in a person’s life feel a little better, just by your smile and sense of humor. I hope the theater is packed up there for your arrival Mr Clark, god bless you!

Our sympathy to all of you in the passing of Reggie. I always appreciated he and Barb's hospitality while doing my internship with Clark Funeral Homes back in 1983.....they were both so kind in making me feel like a part of their family by inviting me to share dinners when I would be working late in Lake Placid, and by letting me stay overnight in the guest cottage when the weather was bad, or the work-day ran long. Now as a funeral director in PA, I remember often words of wisdom from Reggie and appreciate his guidance during my internship......it helped me become the funeral director I am today. I will always remember your family with fondness.
Sincerely, Steve Tetreault and my wife, Julie

So many fond memories of Reg that it's hard to choose one, but here goes. About 25 years ago the Legion had a Fourth of July field day. I was asked to paint faces, Reg had brought one of his grandkids for me to do. I was joking that his forehead was a great canvas and he should let me paint him. Sure enough he said ok but I want an eyeball right here pointing dead center. His granddaughter, I think, was in hysterics and so was I. He wandered around with that third eye like it was totally natural. He will be missed by so many people. Love and sympathy to all of the Clark family.

There are so many wonderful memories to share and it all began with connecting with Kim at Skye Farm camp...After becoming fast friends we began spending summers together and I became one of the family for which I am eternally grateful for! I had many first adventures: The time Dad Clark picked me up at my high school in the hearse after asking my Mom if he could take me to NYC because he had to make a burial there (boy did everyone ask questions). He then took me to my first Broadway show-Phantom of the Opera. I had my first Veal Oscar at The Steak and Stinger! He took me for an adult beverage at The Lake Placid Club together; watched Star Wars so many times we started to breathe like Darth Vadar...getting to see the Olympics and the list goes on. Where ever I went whether in my home, Albany area or beyond and mentioned Lake Placid-everyone seemed to know Reggie Clark's name was always met with a great smile and story. His love for life; humor, animals, nature and sweets (everyone knows to do finger exercises to make room for dessert). And I was able to spend a few final hours with my Lake Placid family to say good by and to celebrate and amazing man and an amazing legacy! His huge generous heart lives on in each and everyone of the Clark children and grandchildren. May the road rise to meet you...sending my love, Sharon aka "Wheels"

As owner of the Palace Theater Reg owned an inoperable organ from the silent movie era. In my high school days I spent hours crawling around the theater helping to re-store the organ to working order with classmates Mike Dodds, Mike Saulpaugh and high school music teacher Ray Durkee (or was it David Salley?). The musical performances that resulted from that effort provided joy to the Lake Placid Community for years. Reg had a real appreciation for the history of the theater and has given back a tremendous legacy to the community. May he rest in peace and may the family be comforted by the knowledge that his legacy will live on for years to come.
