Jean was a rock at the centre for Lake Placid Soccer Centre. Always on time and ready to go. I did not witness personally but after a tough week of over 1000 campers, staff and parents at St. Lawrence University Jean danced her way to the local watering hole in Canton, New York the Hoot Owl and reportedly was dancing with Romerito ( of Paraguay World Cup & Cosmos fame). A great supporter of all the kids we provided overnight camp experience for well over 30 years. Jean also kept the teams in line at the Soccer America Dawn to Dark Festival - our indoor soccer adult competition in the olympic rinks of Lake Placid. Thanks Jean and the Moore family for all the great energy and memories.

I first met Jean when I returned to Lake Placid in 1977 to work for the Lake Placid Olympic Committee. Jean was already there as an accountant and one of the few employees on staff at that time. Jean and I worked together from that point on for the next thirty plus years first at the Olympics and then in my CPA firm and then as a client at the Lake Placid Soccer Center. She was a no nonsense type of person and would always say it as it was and no one pulled the wool over her eyes! Jean was very helpful to me throughout my career as a mentor, supporter and true friend. With her help we weather and survived many challenges and tribulations. I could not have survived those without her help. I valued her wisdom, abilities, opinions wit, charm and sense of humor.
Jean was there as my children grew from infants to adults and beyond. She always looked forward to our Christmas cards each year with their latest updated picture. The kids looked forward to visiting our office and raiding Jean's candy jar. Yes, Jean's famous candy jar! Jean would always be smiling and had that all but familiar twinkle in her eye as they ate the candy.
Jean you were one of an kind and your real name of Mercedas always impressed me as very fitting to you because it implies you were quality through and through just like the car!!! You will be dearly missed by all. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Peggy and your family.

Jean was an absolutely amazing woman. Jean was the Administrative Assistant for Lake Placid Soccer Center for most of its history. The truth is she was the glue that held the business together. Every camper, parent, coach, and staff member loved Jean. Her beautiful demeanor and omnipresent humor were very special. Jean was the only person in the world that could keep Twig, Alf, and me in line which was constantly needed.God bless Jean.

Jean was so kind and always had a smile on her face even throughout the chaos of Lake Placid Soccer Center! She would listen to us complain while putting up with Twig and Larry!! Lol
I was so happy to introduce my son to her at the LPSC reunion!! She will be greatly missed!! ❤️
