Obituary of Mercedas Jean Kendrick

Mercedas "Jean" Kendrick, 92, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2020 at Elderwood at Uihlein of Lake Placid in Lake Placid, NY. Jean was born on February 19, 1928 in Youngstown, Ohio the daughter of Walter and Margaret McDonough. She had two brothers, Donald and Walter who reside in Ohio. She moved to Adirondack's and married Joseph Kendrick of Lake Placid, in February 1953. Together they had three children: Patrick, Margaret ( Peggy) and Kathleen. She was predeceased by her son Patrick in 1982, her daughter Kathleen in 1990 and her husband Joe in 2006. Jean worked as a secretary at numerous places including The Pentagon in Washington, D.C. and in Lake Placid at St. Agnes Rectory, Hoffman, Lansing and Benham accounting firm and many years with the Lake Placid Soccer Center. Jean is survived by her daughter Margaret and her husband Thomas Moore, her grandson Patrick Kendrick Moore and her granddaughter Juliana Kathleen and her husband John Mc Dermott, as well as several nieces and nephews. Jean loved quilting, knitting, and sipping champagne (or a coors light) with her friends and family. A graveside service will be held on September 20th at 1:00 PM at St. Agnes Cemetery and a celebration of her life will follow. Donations in Jean's memory can be made to the American Cancer Society. The M. B. Clark, Inc., Funeral home in Lake Placid is in charge of arrangements.
