Obituary of Leona Clark

Leona Clark, 90, of Largo Florida, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2020. Leona was born in Saranac Lake, NY on December 22, 1929, the daughter of the late Ralph Gowett and Lilian Maynard Gowett. In 1947 she married the late Howard J. Clark and together they spent most of their lives in Frankfort, NY. Leona, fondly known by all as Moom, spent many years working for Masonic Home until she retired in 1996. Devoted to family, Leona will be lovingly remembered as generous, kind, caring and hardworking, who welcomed everyone to her home and could always be counted on for having a pot of coffee brewing and a hot meal waiting.
Leona is survived by her daughter, Edith Canaguier and son-in-law, William Canaguier, of Harrisburg, PA; two daughter-in-law's, Louise Clark, of Ilion, NY and Beverly Clark of North Carolina; her son, Dennis Clark, of Canandaigua, NY; her granddaughter, Charlene Sbiroli, of Seminole, FL; her grandson, William (Bo) Canaguier, Jr and wife, Dana Canaguier, of Marysville, PA; and special great-grandchildren Derek Sbiroli, Ian Sbiroli, Ryan Canaguier and William Canaguier, III, and friend Eric Braun who visited her often, grandchildren, Debbie Clark, Melissa Clark, Colette Ether and husband, Nolan, David Clark and wife, Pam, Dennis Clark and wife, Jill, Rick Dibble and friend, Sandy, and many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Leona was predeceased by her daughter, Mary Clark and her son, Howard (Butch) Clark.
After a private ceremony, Leona will be laid to rest at North Elba Cemetery in Lake Placid, NY.
