I was saddened to hear of the death of my long time close friend Ruth Mace Prime from her dear son, Jon. We shared great fun, many visits, long chats, and lots of singing & dancing at fabulous parties in her beautiful Lake Placid home. Rest in peace, dear friend Ruth. I will forever miss you.
Lots of love – Beverly Madden Waters

I didn’t know Ruth well, but that did not keep her from being a wonderful role model for me for as long as I lived in Lake Placid and beyond. She blazed the way through her long life with grace, dignity, and zest for life, leaving good things all along the way. She will be missed, and not forgotten.
I send my great sympathy and my good wishes to all the Primes,
Sandy Wilson

During the 1991 Ice Storm, my mother Ora & I were in St. Anton am Arlberg, Austria and my father Howard was at my parents' home on the Mt. Whitney Rd. in Lake Placid. Mom was very concerned about Dad when she heard that the road was impassable due to all the downed trees and that it might take a week to cut through the mess and restore the electricity. Mom underestimated Dad's resourcefulness. One of the first things he did was to check-in on neighbor Ruth who was also stranded without power. The two neighbors combined resources and ended up doing cocktails and Dad cooking meat Ruth had stored in the freezer on an old Habachi Grill we had in our garage. They survived and had fun in the process. And it was definitely Ruth that provided the "fun" aspect!
Dad had enormous respect for Ruth, as did we all. The last time I saw Ruth was a dinner with her at Cafe Rustica with Dad. It was just before she moved back from Seattle, but I was fascinated to hear about the houseboat and all her adventures out on the West Coast. I kept thinking, I hope I never stop challenging myself the way she has - a truly inspiring life. Ruth will be missed.

I found out about this today, 1/21/21. I did bookkeeping for Ruth both at Ruthies Run and in 1987 to 1988 at the Adirondack Store. She was one of the finest women i have ever known and the best employer ever. My love and condolences to all of you. Phyllis Honigmann

Jon and family,
I met Ruth once in New York and remember her clearly. I know from stories she was a remarkable woman who occupied a very special place in the hearts of many. I have no doubt her memory and presence will never leave those who knew her and loved her. On this sad occasion, David and I send our deepest condolences to you all.
Here’s to Ruth!
