To Adele's family,
Adele and my father, Gardner Soule, knew each other in college (he at Williams and she at Bennington) and they reconnected when she moved to Middlebury. My parents valued their friendship with Adele and enjoyed summer visits in Lake Placid and many dinners at Fire and Ice. She lived a full and productive life and gave so much of herself to the people of Addison County. How fortunate were we all who had the good fortune to have crossed paths with Adele. Sending good thoughts to her family, -Sarah Soule

We were honored to have known Adele. She was intelligent, funny, irreverent, kind and the matriarch of Fire & Ice Restaurant. At a time when gourmet food was in its infancy, Adele introduced our community to dishes like Potage Crecy, Quiche Lorraine, moussaka, and hot ice! The signature starter in the early days of the restaurant. On behalf of all of us, the thousands of people who have worked at Fire & Ice, and all of our guests through the years, we say thank you to Adele for making her dream of owning a restaurant a reality. Godspeed Adele. Dale and Cindy Goddard
