Obituary of Albert Lamar Wheeler

Please share a memory of Albert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Albert Lamar Wheeler Jr., as we all know and love as Chip, passed away on December 28, 2021. Chip was born in Palm Beach, Florida on May 27, 1982 and moved to Lake Placid, New York in 1988. He was the husband of Mirra (Bickford) Wheeler whom he married on October 2, 2020. He was the son of Albert and Kristina (Hinkel) Wheeler and loving brother to Weston Wheeler. Chip graduated from Northwood School in Lake Placid. He went on to obtain further education at Brevard Community College in Cocoa, Florida to pursue his golf career. Later went on to Penn State to receive the credits he needed to obtain his dream title as Class A Superintendent through GCSSA (Golf Course Superintendent Association of America). As a child, Chip started his career in the golf industry at the Lake Placid Club and never stopped from there. He worked at the Saranac Inn Golf Club for over 20 years, loving every minute of it and a piece of his heart will always be there. In 2020, Chip had the opportunity to partner with two of his best friends to fulfill a lifelong dream of owning and operating a golf course, Chili Country Club, located in Rochester, New York. Chip loved to travel and always took advantage to see a live concert, Billy Joel was a top pick. He was extremely loyal and loved being with his friends and family, whether it was at Camp Taboo (AKA CAFAF), snowmobiling, golfing, drinks at The Cottage or Zig Zags with Big Al, dinner with Kris, spending one on one time with Wes or riding in his truck with Rory. There was nowhere he was happiest than with his wife, Mirra, who he was incredibly proud of and his love for her was apparent to everyone. We'll all miss Chip's giant smile and it was never wider than the last eight years with Mirra. Anyone that knew and loved Chip knew he had the biggest heart and shared it with everyone and everywhere he could. Chip is survived by his wife Mirra Wheeler, parents Al and Kris Wheeler, brother Wes Wheeler, sister-in-law Shannon (Abbott), nephew Lochlan. His mother and father-in-law, Alice and Steve Bickford and brother-in-law Evan. He is also survived by his aunt and uncle Connie and Peter Geisler, cousin Peter Geisler, Jr., his wife Soraya and their daughters Jasmine and Violet, Uncle and Aunt Tom and Lu Hinkel and cousins Cameron, Keefer and Connor.
