Wesley D. True, Sr. passed away February 17, 2023 at UVM-CVPH in Plattsburgh. He was born November 17, 1934 in Somerset, Massachusetts to parents William Stanley True and Ada (Blake) True. He is also preceded by his three brothers, Edward (Skip) True, William (Sonny) True, and Franklin (Frankie) True. Wes was a decorated Korean War veteran in the US Air Force. His last assignment was at Plattsburgh AFB, NY. He retired after 20 years and moved with his family to Champlain, NY where they remained for 56 years. Wes worked several jobs after retirement: Harris Binderies in Champlain for 15 years, Imperial Paper in Plattsburgh, and the Village Hardware store in Rouses Point. He also volunteered as an EMT for the Champlain Fire Department. Wes loved to go hunting, fishing, and watch NASCAR, boxing and all other sports! Wes is survived by his two children Brenda True-Phaneuf and husband Bruce Phaneuf of West Chazy, NY and son Wesley D. True, Jr. and fiancée Gina McCormick of Omaha, NE, and granddaughter Hannah True also of Omaha, NE. Wes is also survived by his sister-in-law Maureen (Edward), sister-in-law Rita (Franklin), and sister-in-law Jacklyn (William) and brother-in-law Marshall Andrews and wife Patricia, as well as multiple nieces and nephews that will all miss him dearly. A Celebration of Life and graveside memorial will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery in Rouses Point, NY on Friday, June 16 at 11:00 AM where he will be laid to rest with his beloved wife Adeline.
